| Day 39 - 5/28/2014 |
 |
| Lettuce |
 |
| Snap Peas |
I was out of town for a few days and when I got home I went out to check my garden. It just gets bigger and bigger every day and it kind of amazes me at the rate plants grow! I have so much basil that I don't know what to do with it. My kale and lettuce are finally growing and I may actually get to eat some of them soon. My mint and strawberries are making progress also!!
I sometimes wish I didn't plant the squash and zucchini because it seems to want to take over my entire garden with its rain forest sized leaves. But I am just sitting and waiting and hoping that it produces some deliciousness ready to eat to make it all worth it! Last week I had 3 snap peas and this week I got 3 more. Not quite enough to make a meal or serve the family but still exciting to see them and know that I actually planted a plant and something eatable was plucked from this plant and I so far haven't killed a single thing... (knock on wood)

| Tomato Goodness! |
And this week... what I have been waiting for. What I am most excited about having a garden for is starting to arrive!!!
TOMATOES!!! On one of the 4 tomato plants (Beef steak tomatoes) I have in my garden there are a total of 5 tomatoes growing!! One is getting pretty big and the others look like tiny green cherry tomatoes. I can not even express how impatient I feel to pick and eat these suckers!!!
My mom was right when she said that it would get more exciting once vegetables started growing but I have to admit I haven't hated it. (even though the bugs on the kale turned me off a little bit) It has been fun to walk out every day and check my plants and the soil and just stair at my plants. It is even a little rewarding!
Thank you hubby for setting me up for success!!
